Cold air high in the sky combined with toasty air near the ground gave rise to atmospheric volatility all week long. The violent mixing of the air helped build towering thunderheads which glistened and glowed in different shades against the sun’s long, setting beams of light. Sometimes downpours intervened, producing vibrant rainbows.
