Update: Cold Rain Lingers

What appeared to be merely a passing shower early this afternoon has evolved into a steady rain this evening in the central and eastern portions of the metro area (primarily east of Loudoun County). The rain should continue through the evening commute and gradually shift east of the District, but perhaps not until well after midnight. It will be cold to boot, with temperatures hovering around 40 degrees.
