Video: Awesome aurora Australis from International Space Station

Thanks to NASA and the crew of Expedition 29 on the International Space Station, we’re treated to this surreal video of the southern lights, known as Aurora Australis.

Here’s NASA’s description: This sequence of shots was taken September 17, 2011 from 17:22:27 to 17:45:12 GMT, on an ascending pass from south of Madagascar to just north of Australia over the Indian Ocean.

Tip of the hat to Wunderground.com’s Jeff Masters who wrote: The rippling green curtains of the aurora as the space station zooms overhead are amazing!
