Washington, D.C. sunrise and sunset montage (time lapse video)

Over the past three years, I’ve been shooting video for the Capital Weather Gang, often in time lapse. It’s fascinating to watch the sky change color as clouds race overhead in fast motion. I often crunch an hour or more of video into 30 second clips.

I’ve collected a few of my favorite sunrise and sunset clips and assembled them together into a video montage that displays Washington’s unique beauty with the context of a changing and colorful sky. The music I chose to go with the montage is Mozart’s Pianissimo.

All of the clips are sunrise scenes except for one sunset view of the cherry blossoms at the Tidal Basin.

The various scenes of Washington show the Reflecting Pool, the Tidal Basin, the Capitol, the Washington Monument, the Jefferson Memorial, and Georgetown with the Potomac River. I even included the Marine Corps Memorial which is really in Rosslyn but it is overlooking Washington.

I hope you enjoy.
