PM Update: Cold tonight, decent on Saturday; late weekend storminess

You know it’s been chilly when a day with highs in the mid-40s to near 50 feels nice, even though it’s still about 10 degrees below average. If you’re yearning to get some outdoor time in coming days, tomorrow should deliver. With some luck, Sunday could be largely dry as well, but as the weekend closes, we’ve got some storminess to deal with.

Through Tonight: Another cold night is ahead, though winds should decrease a good deal after dark. And other than the cold, no real worries. Temps that quickly enter the 30s after sunset should fall to lows in the mid-20s in the suburbs to near freezing downtown.

Tomorrow (Saturday): Mostly to partly sunny skies should help you feel at least moderately warm during the day, as breezes are lighter than recently. Highs range from near 50 to the mid-50s. A heat wave these days! Winds are from the northwest around 5 to 10 mph. Overnight, it’s partly cloudy, as lows reach the upper 20s in the cold spots to the mid-30s downtown.

Sunday: We should be greeted by at least partial sunshine in the morning, but clouds are on the increase as the day goes. Light rain, or a rain snow mix, may move into the area as early as the afternoon, but probably closer to sunset or a little later. Depending on when clouds arrive and thicken, highs could range from the mid-40s to near 50 or so.

Pollen update: Cold weather the last few days has helped ease high pollen levels of earlier in the week. Trees are currently low, with 6.07 grains per cubic meter. Mold is also low, with grass and weed pollen still absent.
