Transition this weekend should lead us from gusty conditions into calmer, warmer days through early next week. A mix of clouds with sunshine, along with milder temperatures, should still allow us all to get outside for most of the weekend. Sunday looks warm… Monday and Tuesday even warmer. Spring is just getting started it appears, and it may prove worth our wait.

Today (Friday): Any remaining areas of fog and rain should abate during the (earlier) morning hours, with clouds breaking as well. This emergent sunshine, especially for the last half of the day, boosts temperatures briefly to around 60 and wind gusts toward 25 mph. Hard to say just how “warm” it might feel with those wind gusts later in the afternoon—but grab the windbreaker jacket if you can. Orioles at Camden Yards should be dry but a bit windy. Confidence: Medium-High

Tonight: As low pressure continues to develop and strengthen off the coast—moving eastward away from the U.S.—noticeable 10-15 mph breezes shift to a northerly direction. Clouds may fully disappear so as to reveal some stars. Ultimately, low temperatures before sunrise should cool to the freezing mark in some of the colder spots well away from the city, to around 40 downtown. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Saturday): With winds slackening for a bit as high pressure moves back into our area, temperatures in the mid-to-upper 50s may actually feel more tolerable than yesterday’s warmth accompanied by stronger winds. A few sunny spots south of town could eye the 60 degree mark. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow night: Just a slight breeze with some increasing clouds appear on tap. A shower later at night can’t be ruled out (10-20% chance) either. Low temperatures in the low 40s are probable downtown, perhaps mid-30s in the outer spots that remain cloud-free the longest overnight. Confidence: Medium

Sunday: Feeling more springlike! You might enjoy high temperatures in the low-to-mid 60s, boosted by a southerly wind flow. Temperature maxima will depend a bit on the amount of sunshine we see. There is a chance that clouds increase during the afternoon to an extent that high temperatures only end up around 60. There is even an outside chance of a sprinkle, but nothing to stop you from fitting in some outdoor recreation. The earlier in the day the better, I’d say. Confidence: Medium

A LOOK AHEAD

Sunday night: Temperatures may be widely divergent from the mid-40s to mid-50s for low temperatures. Not very low, though, eh? Low temperatures will depend on just how much cloud cover your locale maintains overnight. A small chance of a shower exists too, but most of these patches of clouds don’t possess too much rain, if any. Confidence: Low-Medium

Then on Monday, we see a surge of noticeably warm air with temperatures possibly in the low-to-mid 70s. With unfettered sunshine (fewer than expected clouds) we could hit the upper 70s in a few spots south of town Confidence: Low-Medium

Noticeably, Tuesday’s morning could start off mild — even a hint muggy? The day may feature a few more clouds than Monday but still it gets warm, at or well above the 70 degree mark. I can’t rule out the chance of a shower though. Confidence: Low
