Today: Mostly sunny. Near 70 to low 70s.

FORECAST IN DETAIL

As soon as you’re done reading this, and after making a witty comment or two, get outside! Just remember, that sun is very strong even if the temperatures are what I’d personally call perfect. Starting tomorrow, we turn to a cloudier pattern, and one that might bring some spotty showers for days, perhaps intermixed with a more noticeable rain.

Today (Saturday): If you didn’t get your fill of the excellent weather yesterday, today serves up another opportunity to soak it in. With average highs now around 70 in much of the area, shooting for “normal” is always a wise choice. Mostly sunny skies and a light southeast wind combine with highs around 70 or into the low 70s to produce a delightful late April day.  Confidence: High

Tonight: Mostly clear skies persist into the evening and perhaps most of the night. But, the threat of more and more clouds pushing in by sunrise is a notable one. Those southeast winds have pumped enough moisture in to keep lows up in the mid-40s to low 50s. Open-window conditions? Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Sunday): I’m not too down on this day as a whole, as I think we’ll still end up with one that doesn’t present many major concerns. Skies should start partly cloudy, but we’ll see clouds increase into afternoon, and even a few sprinkles or passing showers (40% chance) are possible before evening. Most of the activity should want to stay west and southwest though. Highs head for the mid-60s to near 70. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow night: Mostly cloudy skies plague the night, and there could be showers here or there (40% chance), but nothing major it does not appear. I’d wager it’s dry more often than not, though everyone might get see some raindrops. With the cloud blanket and relatively moist air mass, temperatures are pretty uniform in the low-and-mid 50s. Confidence: Medium

A LOOK AHEAD

The threat of showers grows on Monday, as they’re likely (60% chance) through much of the day perhaps favoring the second half. Rain may add up more than what we’ve seen leading in as well. At least the air mass remains fairly mild, with highs reaching the mid-to-upper 60s. The chance of showers continues into the night, though it may wane with time as lows reach the low-to-mid 50s. Confidence: Medium

The odds of rain are down on Tuesday, but it’s hard to say it will be dry either. For now, partly to mostly cloudy skies along with less numerous showers across parts of the area seems fairly likely. The pattern is turning a bit stagnant and it’s in no real rush to change. Assuming we do see more sun, highs might head for the upper 60s to low 70s. Otherwise, close to Monday’s temps. Confidence: Low-Medium
