This morning’s fog and overcast eventually gave way to partial sunshine, which boosted temperatures into the 70s (close to normal!).  The afternoon heating also destabilized the atmosphere for a few thundershowers, zipping from northwest to southeast through the region. These clear overnight before a big dose of warmth Friday.

Through Tonight: Evening thundershowers rapidly clear, with decreasing clouds overnight. It’s mild with lows from the low 50s in the cooler suburbs to the upper 50s downtown.

Tomorrow (Friday): A bit of patchy morning fog is possible, but it should burn off quickly with rapidly warming conditions.  Under partly sunny skies, highs reach the low-to-mid 80s.  There’s a 20 percent chance of a late afternoon or early evening shower/storm, but most activity should hold off until dark.  Winds are from the south and southwest at 5-15 mph.
