Dew points hovering around 70 in D.C. helped make today feel somewhat unpleasant despite high temperatures — mostly mid-80s — that weren’t too hot for this time of year. We’re stuck in the soup until a meandering cold front passes in the next few days, but I guess the soup is what this time of year is all about?

Through Tonight: Any isolated shower or thunderstorm should wane with the sunset if it hasn’t prior. After that, we’re partly to mostly cloudy with perhaps a bit of fog after midnight. Thanks to humidity remaining moderate to high, overnight temperatures only dip to the mid-60s to low 70s.

Tomorrow (Tuesday): There may be a spot or two of morning fog, and that leads to skies that are generally cloudier than not during the day. Periods of showers and thunderstorms are a good bet (60% chance) as well, though it shouldn’t be an all day rain and some spots might not get much. Highs settle into the low-and-mid 80s.

Fire relief: Crews battling wildfires in Colorado have been dealt a good hand over recent days with rains helping get the biggest blaze under increasing control. However, AccuWeather highlights renewed potential for “fire weather” over parts of the southwest this week.
