Fireworks over Washington (Kevin Ambrose)

In what’s become a bit of a tradition, we met up for a Fourth of July fireworks shoot.  Once again, we chose the bank of the Potomac River to capture the reflecting light of the fireworks.

The weather was nearly perfect for viewing fireworks last night. Humid and warm (standard D.C. summer), but skies were haze-free thanks to an air mass straight out of the tropics, and there was a solid breeze which kept smoke moving.

This year’s show had some different shells than we’ve become accustom to seeing. Below is a sample of shots from the evening:
