FORECAST IN DETAIL

For those settling back into work or school, this weather is just what the doctor ordered for long lunch breaks and outdoor recess. With abundant sunshine and low humidity, we hand out the weather accolades right on into the weekend, with only a few minor flaws along the way. Even better, it’s an equal opportunity forecast with warm afternoons for those trying to hold on to summer, and cool evenings and mornings for those who want a taste of fall.

Today (Wednesday): We have an awesome day in store as high pressure dominates. Skies are sunny and the humidity is low with dew points in the very comfortable 50s. Morning temperatures climb through the 60s into the 70s, and afternoon highs reach the low-to-mid 80s. Winds are light from the northwest and west near 5-10 mph. A pretty perfect day all round, no? Confidence: High

Tonight: Just a beautiful evening with temperatures dropping back into and through the 70s. Skies should stay mostly clear through the night as lows bottom in the upper 50s to mid-60s with light winds. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Thursday): A front on its way through may generate some clouds at times, and could even touch off a brief sprinkle or shower along with a gusty breeze. Still, it’s a pretty nice day with partly to mostly sunny skies, low humidity, and highs in the mid-80s. Winds come from the northwest around 10-15 mph, but with some higher gusts. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow night: A shot of even cooler and drier air filters in behind the front. So, with mostly clear skies and a bit of a lingering breeze, lows drop nicely all the way down to the 50s to near 60. Confidence: Medium-High

A LOOK AHEAD

Friday is looking simply fabulous. The air should be refreshingly dry with dew points down in the 40s. If anything, it might be a bit cool for those having a hard time letting go of summer, but most should enjoy mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s to near 80. Mostly clear and cool again on Friday night with lows making a return visit to the 50s to near 60. Confidence: Medium-High

High pressure drifting offshore allows for a bit of a warming trend this weekend. Highs should get back to the low-to-mid 80s under partly to mostly sunny skies, with perhaps a Sunday shower or thundershower. Not as cool Saturday night with lows near 60 to the low 60s. Confidence: Medium
