Express Forecast

Tonight: Mostly clear. Lows: Upper 50s to mid-60s.

Tomorrow: Partly sunny. Highs: Mid-80s to near 90.

FORECAST IN DETAIL

After an autumnal start, today’s probably the pick of the weekend. But both days should be pretty solid, especially if you like sunshine and increasingly mild temperatures. Another cold front approaching the area after that won’t bring quite the same cool air as the last, and that cool air won’t stay too long either. We warm up again heading into and through much of the work week.

nice day
Today (Saturday): Some of you all might wake up to temperatures in the 40s, and even downtown could feel chilled! From there, nothing but a nice day ahead. Skies are mostly sunny to sunny. Highs are largely in the near 80 to low 80s range. Winds? From the south and southwest around 5-10 mph. Confidence: High

Tonight: Clouds remain tough to come by under a starry (away from light pollution at least) sky . That light south to southwest wind keeps transporting in slightly higher moisture levels, which keeps us from dipping quite as much as last night. Lows reach the upper 50s in the coolest suburbs to the mid-60s downtown. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Sunday): Both temperature and humidity levels are up, but not terrible. This is out ahead of our next cold front, typically warmer days around here. Readings should head to at least the mid-80s, and some spots making a run toward 90 isn’t out of the question. With skies trending partly cloudy, can’t totally rule out a late-day shower, but moisture levels are still quite low, so it doesn’t seem to be a major risk. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow night: A cold front passing by evening or so may produce some increased cloudiness and perhaps a shower or two. With cooler air filtering back in, we get into the 50s in a lot of places, but probably nearer 60 downtown. Confidence: Medium-High

A LOOK AHEAD

On Monday, skies are mostly sunny to partly cloudy and it’s rather pleasant. Temperatures should rise to the upper 70s and lower 80s. High pressure is pretty quick to slide off the coast, so our cool down won’t last too long. Yet, with the front to the south, we should stay dry. Confidence: Medium

Tuesday brings increasing warmth and humidity. Both are typically fairly manageable in September compared to July though! Still, you’ll probably notice it feeling more summer-like again. Afternoon readings head for the low-to-mid 80s. There could be a shower, but any risk is pretty small from here (10-20% chance). Confidence: Medium
