Today feels great, although how much sun we see is a question mark. Tuesday through Thursday, a push of hot, humid air envelops the region – with mid-summer-like temperatures. Late Thursday a front comes through setting off scattered storms but setting up a second straight beautiful September weekend, even if on the cooler side.

Today (Monday): Winds from the northeast (around 5-10 mph) drop temperatures a good 10 degrees compared to yesterday.  The marine air may favor substantial cloud cover at times, but intervals of sunshine are possible.  Highs range from the 70s to near 80 – with higher values achieved if we can manage some more sun.  Confidence: Medium-High

Tonight: A warm front lifts through the region, producing cloud cover but no rain.  Lows range from the low-to-mid 60s with light winds, initially from the northeast, shifting to more out of a southerly direction. Humidity increases noticeably overnight.  Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Tuesday): Lingering morning cloud cover gives way to partly sunny skies and very warm, humid conditions. Highs reach the upper 80s. But it feels hotter than hot with high humidity levels (dew points rising into the upper 60s). Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow night: Partly cloudy and muggy, with lows in the upper 60s to low 70s (suburbs-city).  It has the feel of a mid-July night. Confidence: Medium-High

Wednesday and Thursday are probably the hottest days the week, with highs flirting with 90, if not a bit higher.  Humidity is up there too, and it will feel like 95-98 each afternoon.  On Thursday afternoon and evening, there’s a 30 percent chance of storms as a frontal system comes through .  Lows Thursday morning range from the upper 60s (in the cooler suburbs) to the low-to-mid 70s downtown. Confidence: Medium

Friday through Sunday look really nice right now, offering a taste of early fall.  Under mostly sunny skies, highs each day are within a few degrees of the mid-70s, with overnight lows mostly in the 50s. By late Sunday (at night), another front may approach the region  and offer the chance of a shower. Confidence: Low-Medium
