FORECAST IN DETAIL

What more could we ask for than another stretch of superb September weather? We ask, and we shall receive right through Thursday. Even Friday may turn out fairly nice before shower chances intrude for the weekend. Speaking of showers, we could use some of those. So let’s enjoy these beautiful days, but also cross our fingers for a healthy dose of rain sometime soon.

Today (Wednesday): What we have here is a rock-solid gorgeous day. Underneath sunny blue skies, temperatures rise nicely through the 50s and into the 60s by late morning, topping out in the low-to-mid 70s this afternoon with low humidity throughout. Winds are light from the southeast at no more than around 5-10 mph. Confidence: High

Tonight: It’s hard not to like nights like this. Evening readings drop through the 60s on their way to overnight lows near 50 to the mid-50s, with partly to mostly clear skies above. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Thursday): Looks like we hang on to mostly sunny skies, and pick up a few degrees in the temperature department as well. All in all, it’s another delightful day with highs making the upper 70s to near 80 and light winds from the south. Confidence: High

Tomorrow night: The warming trend continues with overnight lows a bit higher, in the mid-50s to low 60s, under partly to mostly clear skies. Confidence: High

A LOOK AHEAD

A cold front begins its approach from the Midwest on Friday. But as of now it should stay far enough west to give us another nice day, with mostly to partly sunny skies, highs in the low-to-mid 80s, only a hint of humidity, and just a 20% chance of a shower Friday afternoon or night. Friday night lows are warmer still, mainly in the 60s. Confidence: Medium

The cold front moves across the area during the weekend, with the best chance of showers (around 40-50%) sometime between Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. We should be able to salvage at least part of each day with partly sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. Confidence: Low-Medium
