It was another delightful day out there, with highs rising to right around average in the mid-70s. That’s as cool as highs will be for a while, probably through the weekend, as a hint of summer returns to the region over coming days.
Through Tonight: We’re partly cloudy overnight, with some mostly cloudy periods possible after midnight. Lows range from the lower 50s in the coolest suburbs to right around 60 downtown. With some low-level moisture increase, and winds going light, there could be patchy valley or river fog late.
Tomorrow (Tuesday): Might still have more numerous clouds around as we get going in the morning, but skies should end up at least partly cloudy by afternoon. Highs are right around 80, also known as the upper 70s to lower 80s. West winds are light, around 5 to 10 mph.
Indian summer: This morning’s forecast indicated that we might expect a cold front to pass through during the weekend. More recent modeling is pushing this back, now into early next week. This means that instead of a cooler day on Sunday, both weekend days are more likely to see highs in the 80s (a streak that might start as soon as tomorrow). The cold front now seems likely to pass on Monday, though we might still see a relatively mild one before more seasonal air filters in behind it. Since this is more than a few days out, timing changes are still possible going forward.
Pollen update: Weed pollen and mold spores are currently low/moderate. Grass and tree pollen are both low.
