Doug Hill, Doug Kammerer predict normal to above normal snow for D.C. this winter

Doug Hill and Doug Kammerer – chief meteorologists at ABC7 and NBC4 – released their winter outlooks on Friday. They forecast colder and snowier conditions than the Capital Weather Gang.

Kammerer’s outlook was particularly wintry, calling for 17-23 inches of snow, more than twice CWG’s forecast. He also expects well below normal temperatures – compared to CWG’s relatively mild outlook.

“…on the whole I think you will need your coat a lot more than you did last year,” Kammerer says. “I also think you will need your snow shovel!”

Hill calls for near normal temperatures and snowfall.

“… we will finally have, at least, an average snowfall this winter of 10 to 18 inches and temperatures at or only fractionally above average,” Hill says.
