Looking back on 2013, there was not much snow in Washington to photograph and the storm activity was fairly tame in comparison to last year. We did have a mini-derecho event on June 13 and Tropical Storm Andrea dumped heavy rain over our region during the first week of June.   Altogether, it was not a dramatic or memorable year for weather in Washington.

Despite the lack of stormy weather this past year, 2013 did put on a good display of colorful sunrises and sunsets.  Also, the various full moon rises put on a good show.

I have selected some of my favorite Washington-area weather photographs from 2013 that have appeared on our Capital Weather Gang blog and on our Flickr group page.  The photos with their descriptions are listed below in chronological order.  I have also included a link in the photo caption to the Capital Weather Gang post where they appeared.  Additional information about the photo and the weather event can be found in the linked post.
