Midwest meteor: Security camera snags stunning fireball footage

Last Thursday, a dramatic fireball (or large meteor) streaked through the skies of eastern Iowa – capturing the attention of hundreds of eyewitnesses. Over 1,200 people filed reports with the American Meteor Society, making it the third most reported fireball in its online system’s history.

The City of North Liberty, Iowa posted this incredible video – which shows the fireball flaming out in the snowy skies:
