Super Bowl Sunday Outlook Final Update — 1 Day to Go
With the big game one day away, we’re pretty sure there won’t be any major weather issues, plus “warm” temps to boot!
A cold front should pass through the area during the afternoon. Rain showers may accompany the front (30% chance of seeing any showers). Daytime highs should make a run at 50 or so. Skies are mostly cloudy, with some longer breaks of sun possible through midday. The Super Bowl itself should be dry, which will mark quite a contrast with the snowy weather expected on Monday.
Final forecast vs. 10-day trend
Looking at the trend of our 10 forecasts for the Super Bowl, we didn’t do that well on temperatures with an average more than 10 degrees higher today compared to our first outlook on January 23. However, we remained confident through the stretch that storminess would not be a major issue. Also, our initial analog pattern outlook was maybe better than we first gave it credit for. If we had incorporated more of the analog guidance into the forecast from the start, we likely would have arrived at today’s forecast temperature range quicker.
