Mother nature displayed impeccable timing – bringing out the best of the cherry blossoms and the season’s nicest weather on the same day. Enjoy the super nice evening ahead and, don’t despair, even much of Friday may well turn out pleasant before some showers move into the region.
Through Tonight: A very fine spring evening! Temperatures gradually fall back through the 60s through 8-10 p.m. Overnight lows dip to near 52 downtown with mid-40s in the cooler suburbs, under partly cloudy skies. Winds from the southwest at 10-15 mph.
Tomorrow (Friday): The balance of the day is dry, but showers develop midday into the afternoon – first in our far northwest suburbs (12-3 p.m.) and eventually easing into the metro region and points east towards early evening (4-7 p.m.). Highs are still near 70 despite increasing cloud cover, especially in the afternoon. Winds are from the southwest at around 10 mph.
Pollen: Tree pollen counts are on the rise. This morning they were 214 grains per cubic meter of air, which is in the HIGH range.
Cherry blossom photos: With the blossoms at their peak, the photos are streaming in. Below are a handful of submissions from our different feeds! Also, checkout this new cool resource, StrollAround.com for a guided tour of the blossoms.
