A superior cherry blossom sunrise in Washington, D.C. (PHOTOS)

Cherry blossoms achieved peak bloom in Washington, D.C. Thursday and should remain in their prime for at least a few more days.

Photographers who awakened early this morning to beat the crowds and catch a glimpse of the blossoms coupled with the rising sun were rewarded with outstanding views.  Here’s a sample of sunrise photos from our readers and Capital Weather Gang contributors…
