The mercury soared to at least 86 at Reagan National today, the highest temperature of the calendar year thus far. Fredericksburg hit 90. Another warm one is on the way Friday, with temperatures just a hair below today’s levels.

Through Tonight: Partly cloudy and very warm conditions this evening, as temperatures slowly drop back into the 70s. Late at night, some fog is likely to develop, with overnight lows in the upper 50s in our cooler suburbs to low-to-mid 60s downtown. Light winds.

Tomorrow (Friday): Much like today it may be a little soupy when you get up and head out. But the morning marine layer eventually erodes as partial sunshine emerges. Afternoon highs settle from around 79-84 with the warmest readings south and southwest of the District. Winds are light from the southeast around 5-10 mph.
