Heat and humidity are often an electrical combo in D.C.’s peak storm months of June and July. There was plenty of both on Wednesday, our hottest day of the summer thus far.
Storms dotted the region yesterday afternoon and well into the evening. Despite that fact, they largely skirted the immediate D.C. area with their worst. As you can see below, we sat in something of a severe storm hole.
Despite that fact, just enough lightning showed itself for some quality pictures. There’s nothing quite like stormy skies over the nation’s capital.
