Two goals by Alex Ovechkin -- one on a penalty shot -- and a fight-filled third period were just some of the highlights in Washington's dominant, 7-2 victory over New Jersey at Verizon Center.
John Carlson, Tomas Fleischmann, Jason Chimera, Brooks Laich and Eric Fehr also scored for the Caps, who rebounded in dramatic fashion from last night's sluggish, 4-2 loss in Atlanta. Michal Neuvirth was again solid in goal, stopping 31 shots, including all 17 he faced in the second period.
Much more to come, so stay tuned.
