The NHL announced the schedule for the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs Sunday night. The full list can be found here but the dates and times for the Capitals’ Eastern Conference quarterfinal against the New York Rangers is as follows.
Game 1: Weds., April 13 at Washington, 7:30 p.m., CSN, Versus
Game 2: Fri., April 15 at Washington, 7:30 p.m., CSN
Game 3: Sun., April 17 at New York, 3:00 p.m., NBC
Game 4: Weds., April 20 at New York, 7:00 p.m., CSN
*Game 5: Sat., April 23 at Washington, 3:00 p.m., NBC
*Game 6: Mon., April 25 at New York, TBD
*Game 7: Weds., April 27 at Washington, TBD
*if necessary
The extra day between Games 3 and 4 as well as 4 and 5 is an interesting element to this series, which was likely coveted by many of the league’s television partners. Regardless of the reason, though, it will provide a good deal of rest for both squads.
