The NHL and NHLPA recessed labor negotiations last week and currently have no further meetings planned, making a lockout seem increasingly likely with only 11 days to go before the current collective bargaining agreement expires. But that hasn’t stopped the number of players taking part in on-ice workouts at KCI from growing.
On Tuesday, 11 Capitals were on the ice for some light four-on-four scrimmaging, including captain Alex Ovechkin (sporting a new haircut) and top center Nicklas Backstrom. This is the second time Ovechkin has been on the ice in Arlington with his teammates.
In addition to Ovechkin and Backstrom, those on the ice this morning are: Marcus Johansson, Mike Ribeiro, Wojtek Wolski, Mike Green, John Carlson, Michal Neuvirth, Stanislav Galiev, Dmitry Orlov and Mattias Sjogren.
More to come.
