The Washington Capitals conducted their last practice this morning before the all-star break, and the notable absences included Alex Ovechkin, Nicklas Backstrom and Marcus Johnasson, each of whom played in last night's 2-1 shootout loss to the New York Rangers.
Absent as well were Tom Poti and Eric Fehr, both of whom are dealing with injuries and did not play against the Rangers.
Alexander Semin and Matt Bradley did skate, however, although each continues to be listed as day-to-day.
