Alex Ovechkin on Capitals’ Game 5 victory over Rangers

We’ll have much more to come soon on Washington’s dominant, 3-1 victory over the New York Rangers to close out this Eastern Conference quarterfinal series in five games. In the meantime, though, a few words from captain Alex Ovechkin, who scored on a nifty backhand to put the Capitals up 2-0 in the second period:

On winning the series in five games: “It’s pretty cool, we have time to rest. Right now I feel pretty good, but it’s not over yet, it’s just one step.”

On his goal: “I think I have pretty good speed down there. Hanner [Scott Hannan] gave me a pretty good pass and I just do what I have to do to score goals. It’s my job.”
