Alex Ovechkin will play against Canadiens

After skating for about 15 minutes during the Capitals’ morning skate, Alex Ovechkin said he will play tonight against the Canadiens.

“I just tried a couple of days ago skating and last night I don’t feel well,” he said. “Today I feel normal.”

Ovechkin missed Wednesday’s game in Ottawa and did not practice with the team on Thursday because of an undisclosed lower body injury he is believed to have suffered in Carolina.

“It is frustrating, especially in this period of time in the season,” Ovechkin added. “I was in a situation [where] I can’t help my teammates, I can’t help the team to win. So it was kind of bad feelings. Right now I feel normal and ready to go.”
