Capitals recall Keith Aucoin and other practice notes

Washington recalled center Keith Aucoin from the AHL’s Hershey Bears on Thursday, giving the team 22 players on its active roster, including 13 forwards, as it embarks on a critical four-game road trip.

Given the length of the road trip it make sense that the Capitals wanted to bring an extra forward along in case of an unexpected injury or illness. Aucoin is on the ice for practice at KCI and is one of four players on the ice in a white jersey, which typically signifies the fourth line.

Everyone on the active roster, along with Mike Green, is taking part in the final practice before the team departs for Fort Lauderdale this afternoon.

Here are the Capitals’ lines and pairings today:

Forwards
Ovechkin-Johansson-Brouwer
Chimera-Perreault-Semin
Hendricks-Laich-Knuble
Beagle/Aucoin-Halpern-Ward

Defense
Alzner-Carlson
Schultz-Wideman
Hamrlik-Orlov
Erskine-Green

Goal: Vokoun and Neuvirth.
