Capitals swap centers on top two lines for practice

Some quick notes from what we’re told will be a brief practice, less than a half hour, at KCI:

--Dennis Wideman (leg hematoma) was out for another light skate in warmup gear before the rest of the team hit the ice this morning. He went to the dressing room as his teammates came out to start practice.

--With the exception of Wideman, everyone is in attendance for practice. There is, however, a slight change in the line combinations.

Jason Arnott is now centering the top line while Nicklas Backstrom has been moved to the second unit. As has been the case all year when Coach Bruce Boudreau adjusts his lines, we’ll have to see if this is just a practice experiment or something that is present in Game 3 at Madison Square Garden on Sunday.

--The lines are as follows:

Ovechkin-Arnott-Knuble

Sturm-Backstrom-Semin

Laich-Johansson-Chimera

Hendricks-Gordon-Bradley

King-Beagle-Fehr
