Capitals take their dogs to work

(Tarik El-Bashir - The Washington Post)

I wanted to write a dog-related play on words for this caption, but my boss told me I was barking up the wrong tree. (Tarik El-Bashir - The Washington Post)
It was a funny scene over at Kettler Capitals Iceplex this afternoon when, after a lengthy practice, several players brought their dogs out onto the ice for a photoshoot with the Washington Animal Rescue League.

Above, Jeff Halpern poses with his puppy. Other players who participated included Michal Neuvirth (along with his dog, Tractor, who paid a visit to the dressing room), Mike Green, Dennis Wideman and Nicklas Backstrom.

More newsworthy, of course, is that Green was spotted walking with a significant limp when he went out to join his teammates for the shoot. There’s more on that here.
