Capitals trim training camp roster by three

The Capitals have trimmed their training camp roster once again, this time assigning three players to the American Hockey League.

Forward Chris Bourque and defensemen Sean Collins and Patrick McNeill have all been assigned to the Hershey Bears, pending waivers clearance.

This leaves Mathieu Perreault, Mattias Sjogren and Cody Eakin still battling for the remaining forward spot with two more exhibition games remaining. Dmitry Orlov, 20, continues to survive each round of cuts in what may be one of the more surprising developments of training camp as he prepares for his first full season in North America.

By my count, the Capitals have 27 players remaining in camp following the three cuts and the addition of Braden Holtby, who is on the ice at KCI this morning.
