Capitals will face Lightning in Eastern Conference semifinals

Four days after they clinched their trip to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, the Capitals finally know who they will face.

Led by a 36-save performance for goaltender Dwayne Roloson, the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 1-0 in Game 7 of that series and advances to face Washington in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The schedule for the semifinals has not been released yet by the NHL, but it’s possible the series could start with Game 1 on Friday.
