Capitals winger Eric Fehr to have shoulder surgery

Eric Fehr is set to undergo shoulder surgery in the next few days, according to the Capitals’ Mike Vogel.

The right wing, who didn’t play in Wednesday night’s Game 4 loss, has a long history of shoulder issues.

Fehr missed 22 games with a right shoulder injury after he collided with David Steckel during a game against Vancouver in January. Then in his fourth game back, he re-injured it and missed two more games. Back in the summer of 2009, he had surgery on both shoulders.

Fehr recorded one goal in five playoff games for Washington.
