Injury update on Roman Hamrlik; Mike Green and Jay Beagle skate at KCI

Roman Hamrlik took part in the morning skate at Scotiabank Place but only offered that he continues to “feel better” when asked about his potential status for Wednesday’s contest against the Senators.

Hamrlik has missed three consecutive games with what the team has described as a lower-body injury. Coach Dale Hunter said the veteran defenseman would be a game-time decision against Ottawa.

Washington’s defensemen didn’t take part in the rushes as pairs, but rather as one large group of seven.

Hamrlik, 37, has played 23 games this season and has a team-worst minus-10 rating.

— In other injury news, neither Mike Green (strained right groin muscle) nor Jay Beagle (concussion) are on the road trip with the team but both players skated this morning at KCI, according to a Capitals’ spokesman.

Tonight’s game in Ottawa marks the 24th straight contest Beagle has missed with the concussion while it is the 13th consecutive game that Green has sat out since straining his groin on Nov. 11 in New Jersey.
