Capitals’ Jason Arnott listed as week-to-week with undisclosed injury

Recently acquired veteran center Jason Arnott is not in Montreal with the Capitals because of an injury, the nature of which was not disclosed by the team. He is formally listed as week-to-week, according to the Capitals’ Mike Vogel.

Since he was picked up at the trade deadline from New Jersey in exchange for David Steckel and a second-round pick in 2012, Arnott has provided a poised presence in the Washington dressing room and helped spark a more cohesive second line as well.

Also via the team, Nicklas Backstrom (fractured thumb), Tom Poti (groin) and Semyon Varlamov (knee) have traveled with the Capitals to Montreal.

More to come once the team practices at Centre Bell.
