In his first two NHL games, Caps center Marcus Johansson has shown off his smooth skating and puck-handling capabilities, but he's also made some rookie mistakes. Exhibit A: The first-period giveaway that led to a New Jersey goal in an eventual Washington win.
"With young players, the beginning of the season is nerve racking," Coach Bruce Boudreau said of the young Swede's development. "You want to do good for your team and show you belong. It's going to take a few games for Marcus and Karl Alzner and John Carlson to settle down and play the way they are capable of playing."
