Defenseman Mike Green will miss Saturday's game in Nashville with an upper-body injury, Coach Bruce Boudreau said after this morning's practice. Green left the Wednesday's game with roughly six minutes remaining with what Boudreau then called a "stinger".
"He's a lot better today than he was yesterday, so I do think it's day-to-day," Boudreau said. "I just know he's not going to be playing tomorrow."
If Tom Poti (lower-body injury) is deemed unable to play against the Predators, the Capitals will recall a defenseman from Hershey. Given that the Bears play at Binghamton tonight and then at home against Rochester Saturday, the Capitals would likely make a call-up sooner rather than later if necessary.
Boudreau said the status of Matt Bradley (lower-body injury) and Marcus Johansson (foot) will be a game-time decision.
--Veteran Mike Knuble, who was given the practice off for family reasons, was the only player other than Green to not participate in this morning's workout.
