Veteran right wing Mike Knuble is the only healthy player not on the ice for Capitals’ practice Tuesday morning at KCI. Knuble, the oldest player on the roster at 38, often takes maintenance days but rarely has he missed two consecutive days of practice.
I’ll check on his status once the team is off the ice.
On to some other notes from this on-ice session:
--With Knuble out the Capitals have some different line combinations. They are:
Ovechkin-Backstrom-Chimera
Sturm-Arnott-Semin
Laich-Johansson-Fehr-Beagle
Hendricks-Gordon-Bradley-King
--The defensive pairings are now what they were changed to in the middle of Game 3:
Alzner-Carlson
Schultz-Green
Erskine-Hannan
--Dennis Wideman, who is recovering from a leg hematoma, skated before official practice was underway at KCI. A Capitals’ spokesman said the defenseman would not be available to the media today.
