Mike Green won’t play in regular-season finale

Although defenseman Mike Green said yesterday that the plan remained for him to start in the regular-season finale Saturday in Florida, the two-time Norris Trophy winner will not make his return from a concussion against the Panthers.

According to the team’s Mike Vogel, Green did not make the trip to Florida and will not be in the lineup. This will be the 20th consecutive game that Green has missed since he suffered a concussion on Feb. 25 when he was hit by the Rangers’ Derek Stepan.

On Wednesday of this week, Coach Bruce Boudreau said Green had been “symptom-free for three weeks, plus”. On March 28, however, Green said he was still dealing with concussion symptoms “here and there”.
