Morning roundup: All-Star Game reactions

Here are some links to get the day rolling before the Capitals get their first look at the new-and-improved Tampa Bay Lightning tonight at Verizon Center.

--The Caps made a few noteworthy radio appearances on Wednesday. First up, Brooks Laich on NHL Live, which includes the quote below with his take on the new All-Star Game format.

"If you get a guy who makes his first NHL All-Star Game and then he gets picked last overall on national TV, somebody, unfortunately is going to be embarrassed in the situation," Laich said. "I think the concept of it would be neat. It goes back to old road hockey, back in the day when you were kids, you'd always pick teams and stuff like that...I would just feel really bad for the guy that gets selected last overall. Granted, you're still in the All-Star Game, so how bad can life really be."

-And you can also check out Mike Green's regular appearance on 106.7 The Fan with LaVar and Dukes, where he discusses his fight with Brandon Dubinsky at Madison Square Garden Tuesday.

"They're the team to beat in the East," goaltender Dan Ellis said. "Between them, and Philly and Pittsburgh, those three teams have been the marquee teams in the East the last three years. To match up against those teams is going to be big. We're going to have to bring our 'A' game."
