Open thread: Capitals at Senators

logologo

Faceoff: 7:30 p.m., Scotiabank Place | TV: CSN+ | Radio: 1500 AM

Michal Neuvirth was originally scheduled to start in Ottawa but has fallen ill and so Semyon Varlamov will make his first start since Feb. 20 tonight against the Senators. According to tweets from Hershey public relations director John Walton, there was a last-minute change in goal for the Bears’ game tonight. Braden Holtby, who was slated to start, is now backing up Nolan Schaefer and Holtby may be on call to join the Capitals if Neuvirth is unable to play or back-up tomorrow in Montreal.

Based on warm-up here is what the lineup should look like against the Senators:

Forwards

Laich-Backstrom-Semin

Chimera-Johansson-Knuble

Sturm-Gordon-Bradley

King-Beagle-Hendricks

Defense

Alzner-Carlson

Schultz-Wideman

Erskine-Hannan

Goal

Neuvirth

Scratches: Alex Ovechkin, Jason Arnott, Eric Fehr and Tyler Sloan.
