Optional practice for the Caps

With a month of games nearly every other day, it's not too surprising that the Capitals have an optional practice this morning at Kettler Capitals Iceplex. Among those participating are Marcus Johansson and Tyler Sloan, who are both nursing hip flexor injuries.

Those not on the ice include Alex Ovechkin, Alexander Semin, Nicklas Backstrom, Tom Poti, Michal Neuvirth and Mike Green. Also, Semyon Varlamov (groin) was out on the ice with strength and conditioning coach Mark Nemish once again this morning.
