Roman Hamrlik expects to play in Nashville

Roman Hamrlik didn’t finish Saturday’s game against the New Jersey Devils after suffering what he termed an upper-body injury in the second period, but after a day off, the veteran said he will be ready to face Nashville.

“I was a little bit sore so I decide to not finish the third period. Today I’m feeling much better. I had a good skate and hopefully be ready tomorrow,” Hamrlik said. “Obviously the day off helped yesterday so I feel much better today. It’s nothing serious.”

Both Hamrlik, 37, and John Erskine, who was scratched for Saturday’s game, are expected to play in Nashville, according to Coach Bruce Boudreau.

— Rookie Cody Eakin will be making the trip with the team, Boudreau said. This sojourn includes a stop in Eakin’s hometown of Winnipeg but more on that as the game against the Jets approaches.
