Sean Collins on the ice with Capitals

Defenseman Sean Collins is on the ice for Capitals practice at KCI and if he clears waivers at noon Saturday he will be formally recalled from the Hershey Bears and eligible to play against the Buffalo Sabres at 7 p.m. at Verizon Center.

Collins’ pending recall may mean that John Erskine, who did not play in the final 36 minutes of Thursday’s game, will not suit up against the Sabres. Erskine is on the ice for the morning skate with the rest of the team, however.

Every player, with the exception of Dennis Wideman, who is out indefinitely with a leg hematoma and compartment syndrome, is taking part in the morning session in advance of tonight’s game against Buffalo.
