The Penguins announced that captain
Sidney Crosby
will be in the lineup Monday night against the Islanders at Consol Energy Center, marking the center’s return from the concussion that has sidelined him nearly a year.
Crosby hasn’t played since absorbing blows to the head in consecutive games, first in a collision with then-Capital David Steckel in the Winter Classic and then when he was knocked into the end boards by Tampa Bay’s Victor Hedman on Jan. 5.
Pittsburgh visits the Capitals at Verizon Center on Dec. 1.
