Eric Fehr, David Steckel, John Erskine and Tyler Sloan did not take part in warm ups for the Capitals prior to tonight's tilt against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Based on the official active roster for the game it appears that Sloan has been placed on injured reserve.
Sloan, who has been bothered by a hip-flexor and groin strain at various times this season, played on Saturday against Atlanta and would be eligible to return to the lineup beginning on Dec. 12 against New York.
The Capitals will take their first look at the defensive pairing of newcomer Scott Hannan and Tom Poti, back after missing the past two contests with a groin strain, as a potential shut-down combination.
