Troy Brouwer not taking part in Capitals’ practice

Winger Troy Brouwer isn’t on the ice for practice Wednesday at KCI after not playing in the final 4 minutes and 34 seconds of Washington’s 5-4 overtime win against Anaheim Tuesday night.

Brouwer was shoved into the boards by the Ducks’ Toni Lydman and suffered an apparent right shoulder injury. This offseason, Brouwer underwent surgery on his right shoulder. I hope to get an update on his status after practice.

Meanwhile, Mike Green, who missed a third straight game with a twisted right ankle Tuesday, was out on the ice in full pads as players trickled out of the dressing room for the start of practice. But after roughly 10 minutes the defenseman had removed his gear and was watching his teammates practice from the bench.

Everyone else, with the exception of Jay Beagle (concussion), took part in the workout.

Here’s what the forward lines looked like in practice:

Ovechkin-Backstrom-Ward
Eakin-Johansson-Semin
Chimera-Laich-Knuble
Hendricks/King-Perreault-Halpern
