Tyler Sloan assigned to Hershey for conditioning stint

The Capitals announced that they've assigned defenseman Tyler Sloan to Hershey for a conditioning stint.

Sloan has appeared in 19 games this season, the most recent on Dec. 26 against Carolina, and has been on and off the injured reserve list throughout the first half of the year while suffering through groin and hip flexor problems.

According to the NHL's collective bargaining agreement, conditioning loans will not extend for more than 14 consecutive days and players on conditioning assignments still count toward the team's 23-man active roster limit.
